Snuck out of work early today for a long-delayed catch-up session with some former colleagues. Enjoyed a relaxing lunch at Danal in the East Village and while everyone else headed back to their respective workplaces I spent the rest of the afternoon shopping. Or rather, trying to shop. As I wandered around Filenes Basement, I wondered who are these clothes supposed to fit? Certainely not me. Or anyone with a not-quite-as-flat-as-it-used-to-be-stomach. Trying not to get too depressed I headed over to Barnes & Noble and treated myself to the new Lolly Winston book "Happiness Sold Separately," which, judging from the first 25 pages is just a good as her first one, "Good Grief." And now I'm waiting on the BGF & her kids to go have dinner.
Plus the Yanks won, taking 2 of out 3 from the Tigers. All in all, a pretty good day.
